Adam Melchor: There Goes the Rest of My Night

This Saturday, Adam Melchor and his band brought life and love to Toronto’s Phoenix Concert Theatre. With a guitar in hand and his finest dress on, Adam played an exceptional batch of songs both old and new, singing his heart out with every word.

Adam had played in Toronto a few times before as an opening act, but this was his first headlining gig in the city, and he completely owned the stage. The musicianship from him and his band were exceptional, and as far as I could tell, everything we heard was being done live on stage. Adam not only sang immaculately but also busted out some killer piano, guitar AND trumpet chops throughout the show, showing not only his great songwriting abilities but also his wide musical skillset.

The best performers are the ones that feel earnest, and Adam most certainly was, whether it was through his music, his tales of youthful pranks and salsa lessons, or his proclaimed love of this crowd and city as a whole. Almost every artist assures their crowd that they've been "the best crowd ever", but the way Adam said it made me truly believe that we were indeed among the greatest crowds he’d ever seen.

Adam was also supported by Charlie Houston and their band who played an awesome set filled with great grooves and exceptional vibes.
